Mary Moody

Who Mary Moody is

Mary Moody started camming in March 2016, and Chaturbate has been her home ever since. When XBIZ interviewed her in April 2020 she said she streams there and nowhere else, and called camming her first love: it is her biggest audience, ahead of the studio scenes and independent clips she also makes. A few months earlier XBIZ had named her Female Cam Model of the Year, which she said left her "completely blindsided".

The name has a story she has told herself. Mary comes from the heroine of Bloody Jack, a novel she read so often the binding fell apart. Moody was chosen because it sounded right next to it, and as a small nod to Harry Potter.

Searching the name also turns up an author, a theatre and several other people called Mary Moody. Her room on Chaturbate is marymoody.

How she runs her room

XBIZ describes her shows as flirty and conversational. Her own account of the job is more practical. She aims for the best stream quality she can manage, broadcasting in 4K, and she has rebuilt her approach several times, dropping whatever stops working instead of holding on to it. You don't need to change who you are to succeed, she said; you need to find the parts of camming you enjoy and keep doing them.

Her lessons from that first year are blunt: don't be shy about what you want, treat everyone around you with respect, and never write anyone off for having fewer followers than you. She set up MaryMoody.tv as a plain information page for fans, she explained, because social media accounts can vanish without warning.

Work beyond the camera

In the same interview she described helping to set up the Adult Industry Laborers and Artists Association. The group formed when California's rules on independent contractors worried online creators, and she said it worked with the California Labor Federation and submitted proposed legislative wording to lawmakers.

She has also been a guest on Sex Tales, the Chaturbate-sponsored interview series hosted by Lana Del Bae and Melody Kush. In July 2025 she joined Hime Marie for a joint show in Hime Marie's Chaturbate room. Hime Marie told XBIZ the two had been friends for years and had appeared at conventions together.

Ten years on, still on the shortlists

The recognition hasn't stopped with 2020. She won Most Helpful Model at the 2021 YNOT Cam Awards and presented awards at the 2024 XBIZ Creator Awards. She was nominated for Creator of the Year (Streamer) at the 2025 XMAs, for Female Streamer of the Year at the 2025 XMA Creator Awards, and again for Female Streamer of the Year at the 2026 XMAs. In September 2026 she was a panelist at Chaturbate's sixth annual Health and Wellness online event.

Before you visit

Her shows lean on talk as much as anything else, so the room rewards people who join the conversation rather than lurk. Our guide to cam room etiquette covers what regulars expect from newcomers.
