How to become a Chaturbate model: what to know before your first show

Start with the honest part

Camming can work well for some people, and badly for others. You'll find plenty of pages promising easy money. We're not going to do that, because nobody can tell you what you'll earn, and pages that do are often paid when you sign up. (We are too, in fact; more on that at the end.)

What we can tell you is what you're agreeing to when you sign up to broadcast, what stays on record, and what to set up before your first show. It all applies to Chaturbate and to GirlCamHub, a Chaturbate-powered site with the same rooms and rules, where a Chaturbate login works too. It's based on the platform's terms and privacy policy and on Chaturbate's Creator Academy, as we read them on 1 and 2 October 2026.

Who can broadcast

The site is only open to adults: you have to be 18, or the age of majority where you live if that's higher. That's checked properly for broadcasters, not with a tick box.

What the sign-up asks for

To broadcast as an independent performer, the privacy policy says you'll need to provide:

1. Your ID A colour copy of a current, government-issued photo ID.
2. Proof it's you A short live video or a burst of photos of yourself, matched against the ID.
3. Payment details Where your money goes, such as a bank account or an address, unless you work through a studio. If someone else receives the money for you, they have to verify their age too.
4. Tax details You may be asked for taxpayer information. The platform reports payments to the US tax authority, and to other countries' equivalents where it decides that's required.

Chaturbate's Creator Academy, which covers GirlCamHub too since it's the same platform, is more specific about the ID. Passports, driving licences and other plastic government-issued IDs are accepted; expired or temporary IDs, military IDs and birth certificates aren't. You'll also take a selfie with only your face in the frame. Anyone else who'll appear on your account has to agree to the Independent Broadcaster Agreement and go through the same check. Two things about this are worth knowing before you start. Your ID and verification images are kept for seven years after your content was last on the site, because US law requires it. And if you broadcast without showing your face, for example in a mask, the site may interrupt you now and then to ask for a selfie, to confirm you're still the verified adult.

Recordings: the setting most people miss

This is the part of the terms that surprises people. Private shows are recorded by default, and the recording goes to the person who paid for the show, who can keep watching it on the platform. You can turn this off at any time in your account settings, and the terms say so plainly.

The terms also warn that other members might record your broadcasts without permission and share them elsewhere. That's against the rules and often against the law, but it happens, so plan for it rather than hoping it won't. Getting leaked cam content taken down explains what to do if it does.

Get the setup right first

New broadcasters get a NEW tag, which the Creator Academy says gives extra visibility for 80 hours of streaming during your first 30 days. Spend those hours with good light, clear sound and a steady connection, not fixing them live. Money basics

Viewers pay in tokens, and the platform pays you out on its payout dates; how Chaturbate pays models lists every payout method with its minimum, fee and timing. If you ever close your account, the terms say any tokens left will be paid to your payment details on the next payout date. How much any of it comes to depends on so many things, from hours to audience to plain luck, that we won't put a number on it. Treat any page that does with suspicion.
