Chaturbate private shows for models: settings, prices and spying
Where the private show settings are, what other rooms were charging when we counted, how spying and premium privates work, and what to decide about recordings.
A private show is the one place on Chaturbate where you put an exact price on your time. A viewer asks, you accept, and from then on they pay by the minute at a rate you chose in advance. Set it up with some thought and privates become a calm, predictable part of your week. Leave it on whatever you clicked on your first day and you can end up underpriced, spied on when you'd rather not be, or recorded without having decided whether you mind.
This guide is for performers. It covers where the settings are, what other rooms were charging when we counted, how spying and premium privates fit in, the recording, and running the show itself. It's based on Chaturbate's Creator Academy and terms, and on GirlCamHub's public room list, which we went through on 23 October 2026. GirlCamHub runs on Chaturbate with the same rooms and settings, so everything here applies on both. The viewer's side of the same show is in Chaturbate private shows explained, and it's worth a read to see what your request screen looks like to them.
Where the settings are
Everything sits in the Settings & Privacy tab under your broadcast window. The Creator Academy points to a section there called Private Show Settings, which comes down to three decisions:
- Allow requests or not Switch private shows on or off. With them off, viewers simply can't ask you for one.
- Set your rate The price in tokens per minute, which the viewer pays for as long as the show runs.
- Set a minimum The shortest show anyone can buy. A viewer who leaves early is still charged for the minutes left in it.
Premium privates have their own price per minute and their own minimum in the same tab. Once you turn them on, viewers see an extra Premium choice when they send a request. Two more things belong in the same sitting: what you charge people to spy, and whether your private shows are recorded. Both are covered further down.
What other rooms charge
Your price is your call, but it helps to know what's normal. On 23 October 2026, at about 18:00 UTC, we counted the private show prices of all 8,226 rooms in GirlCamHub's public list. We're not naming anyone; these are totals.
Only 84 of those rooms had private shows switched off, so almost everyone offers them. Every price we saw was one of a fixed set of steps: 6, 12, 18, 30, 42, 60, 72 and 90 tokens a minute, then higher steps all the way to 1,920 tokens a minute. The room list has a price filter that uses the same bands as the table below, so the band you land in decides which filtered searches you turn up in.
| Tokens a minute | Rooms | Share |
|---|---|---|
| 6 | 1,687 | 20% |
| 12 or 18 | 3,260 | 40% |
| 30 or 42 | 1,790 | 22% |
| 60 or 72 | 912 | 11% |
| 90 or more | 493 | 6% |
| Private shows off | 84 | 1% |
The most common single price was 12, just ahead of 6 and then 18. The middle of the whole list was 18 tokens a minute, and it stayed at 18 when we looked only at the rooms listed as women. We repeat the count every month in Chaturbate by the numbers, so you can see whether that's moving.
The clearest difference was following. The bigger the room's following, the higher the price tended to be:
| Followers | Middle price, tokens a minute |
|---|---|
| Under 1,000 | 12 |
| 1,000 to 9,999 | 18 |
| 10,000 to 99,999 | 30 |
| 100,000 or more | 60 |
Of the 408 rooms with 100,000 followers or more, 184 charged 90 tokens a minute or above. Treat that as a pattern, not a formula. Those performers built a following first and priced to it, and plenty of very popular rooms still sit lower.
Picking your rate and minimum
Start with what a minute is worth to you. Chaturbate pays performers 5 US cents a token, so each token on your rate is 5 cents for every minute of the show. At 12 tokens a minute, a ten-minute private comes to 120 tokens, which is $6 to you. At 30 tokens it's 300 tokens and $15. How Chaturbate pays models has the rest of the arithmetic and the payout options.
Then look hard at the minimum. Your rate multiplied by your minimum is the smallest private anyone can buy, and it's the figure a viewer is really weighing up before they click. Eighteen tokens a minute with a five-minute minimum is a 90-token decision. The same rate with a fifteen-minute minimum is 270. A short minimum makes that first private easier to agree to. A longer one saves you from a run of very short shows, each of which means switching gear and then switching back.
Some habits that make the decision easier:
- Price for the room you have today. When you're starting out, a rate near the lower end of the table gets you requests while you work out how you like privates to go. You can raise it whenever you want.
- Move up one step at a time. Going from 12 to 18, or 18 to 30, is a change regulars notice and usually accept. A big jump all at once is more likely to put people off.
- Warn your regulars first. A line in chat or in your bio is fairer than a surprise on the request screen.
- Listen to your own reaction. If you catch yourself hoping nobody asks, your rate is too low for the work.
Spying and premium privates
In a regular private, other viewers can pay to spy. They see the show but can't chat with you or ask for anything. Spying has its own price per minute, and you can turn it off.
Performers use it in very different ways. Of the 7,791 rooms in our count with both prices set, about half (3,871) charged less to spy than for the show itself, which is the usual arrangement: a cheaper seat at the back. Another 2,046 charged the same for both. The other 1,874 charged more to spy than to book, which nudges anyone curious towards requesting their own private. The most common spy price was 6 tokens a minute, and 351 rooms didn't take spies at all.
Premium privates are for viewers who want you to themselves. They run the same way, but nobody can spy, and the Creator Academy's point is that this lets you charge more for an exclusive show without changing your spy settings every time. If you offer one, price it clearly above your regular private. Otherwise there's no reason to pick the regular option, and the spy minutes go with it.
Fan club members can come into this too. You can let members spy for free or at a discount, and a lower private rate for members is one of the perks Chaturbate's own guide suggests. Chaturbate fan clubs for models covers setting one up. If you'd rather sell one show to several people at once, a ticket show run through an app is the other route: ticket shows for models covers the apps and pricing, and ticket, group and spy shows explains how those shows look to the people buying.
The recording
Under Chaturbate's terms, private shows are recorded by default. The recording goes to the member who bought the show, and they get a permanent licence to watch it on the platform. You can switch recording off in your account settings, and the request screen tells viewers whether a show will be recorded before they confirm.
Make this choice before your first private rather than after it. Some viewers like having the recording and look for rooms that allow it; others never think about it. The real question is whether you're comfortable with a copy of every private sitting in somebody else's collection for good. If you aren't, switch it off now. How to become a Chaturbate model goes through this setting along with the other privacy choices worth making early.
Running the show
When you accept a request, you and the viewer move into a private chat and your stream is visible only to them and to anyone spying. Either of you can end it at any point. Afterwards Chaturbate sets you to Away automatically, so you get a moment before going back to your public room.
Privates that go wrong usually go wrong in the first minute, so it pays to have a routine:
- Agree what the show is A quick hello and one plain question about what they'd like. If it's something you don't do, say so straight away, before they've paid for several minutes of it.
- Keep your limits Paying for a private doesn't change what you're comfortable with. If the show isn't going the way you agreed, you can end it.
- Let the minimum do its job Someone who leaves early is charged for the remaining minutes automatically, so there's nothing to chase or argue about in chat.
- Keep everything on the site Turn down anyone who wants to carry on somewhere else or pay you directly. Nothing protects you there, and moving people off the site is how a lot of cam scams begin.
Use the Away time. A private can take more out of you than an hour of public chat, and two minutes to drink some water and glance at your settings beats going back on camera flustered.
Questions performers ask
Do I have to accept every request?
No. Each request comes to you to accept or decline. Turning one down politely and carrying on with your public show is a perfectly normal answer.
Should I switch spying off?
Only if you'd rather not have an audience in your privates. Spies pay for minutes you're already working, and for some viewers it's a way to see what your privates are like before booking one. If you want spy-free shows only some of the time, offering a premium private does that without touching your settings.
Can I give my regulars a better price?
The tidy way is through your fan club: a lower private rate or cheaper spying for members. Everyone else keeps seeing one public price, and members have a clear reason to stay.
Where this fits
Privates work best once people already enjoy your public room. If they aren't coming in yet, start with how to get viewers on Chaturbate. A clear tip menu keeps the public show lively in between privates, and it's often where a viewer decides they'd like more of your time.
You can sign up as a broadcaster on Chaturbate directly or on GirlCamHub, which uses the same rooms, settings and rules. A note so nothing is hidden: GoGirlCam and GirlCamHub have the same owner, and we receive a referral fee if a performer who signs up through our button goes on to earn. The button opens the broadcaster sign-up page.
