Chaturbate tip menus and tip goals: a setup guide for models

Where your tip menu should live, how the Tip Menu and goal apps work, how to write a menu viewers actually read, and how to choose apps you can trust.

A tip menu answers the question most viewers are too shy to type: what can I do in here, and what does it cost? A goal gives everyone in the room something to work towards together. Between them they turn a room where the odd random tip drifts in into one where people know how to take part.

This guide is for performers. It covers where your menu can live, the apps most broadcasters use to run menus and goals, how to write a menu people actually read, and a few habits that protect your room's trust. It's based on Chaturbate's Creator Academy and the platform's App Directory, both read on 23 October 2026. GirlCamHub runs on the same platform with the same apps, so all of it applies there too. If you'd like to see menus and goals the way your viewers do, how tipping works covers their side.

What Chaturbate's own guide says

The academy keeps it short. Once you're age verified, viewers can tip you. Each tip appears in chat with the tipper's username and the amount, plays a sound unless you've turned that off, and lands in your token balance straight away. Many broadcasters tie set actions to set amounts, and the academy suggests writing those down as a tip menu, either in your bio or through an app.

It also makes a point that's easy to skim past. A menu isn't only a price list; it's where you set out what you're comfortable doing. Anything that isn't on it stays your decision.

In your bio, or in an app?

A menu in your bio is the simplest option. You write it once under About Me and it sits there for anyone who scrolls down. The catch is that a lot of viewers never scroll down.

An app puts the menu into the chat, which is where people are actually looking. Apps live in the App Directory. They're written in JavaScript, mostly by other users, and anyone can modify an existing one or publish their own. Each listing shows a Current Users count, which tells you how many rooms are running it.

Most performers end up using both: the full menu in the bio for anyone who wants to read it properly, and an app that keeps it in front of people during the show.

How the Tip Menu app works

The app simply called Tip Menu is a good example of how these tools behave. Setting it up goes roughly like this:

  1. Add your items You can have up to 10 and need at least 2. Each one is a price in tokens and what you'll do for it.
  2. Give every item its own price The app asks that no two items share an amount, which makes sense once you think about it: a tip has to point to exactly one thing. Leave the slots you don't need blank.
  3. Choose the first item with care The first item and its price are shown under your video, so it's the line passers-by see. Make it something that sums up your room.
  4. Pick a goal mode No goal at all, a standard goal that posts a message when it's reached, or an auto-reset goal that drops back to zero and starts over.
  5. Put the goal in your room subject The app doesn't touch your subject, so you can change it whenever you like without restarting anything. Its author suggests writing what happens at the goal there.

Once it's running, a viewer can type /menu to see the whole list. Only they see it, so the chat doesn't get flooded every time someone asks. When you want the entire room to see it, type /showmenu; that one works for you alone.

Writing a menu people read

The app takes care of the mechanics. What goes on the list is up to you, and that's where most menus go wrong. These are the habits that tend to work:

Keep it short. Ten items is the app's limit, not a target. Five or six clear lines are easier to take in than a wall of text, and a short menu comes across as confident.

Put something cheap near the top. A small item, like a song request, a question you'll answer honestly or a shout-out, lets a newcomer join in without much risk. Once someone has tipped once, the second tip is an easier decision.

Leave real gaps between prices. Items that are only a few tokens apart blur together. Clear steps make it obvious what costs more and why.

Only list what you'd happily do all night. If an item turns out to be popular, you might do it ten times in one show. If that thought makes you wince, raise the price or take it off.

Write it in your own voice. The menu is part of your room's personality. A plain list does the job; a list that sounds like you does it better.

Know what it costs in real money. Viewers buy tokens in packages, so it's worth knowing roughly what each item costs them in their own currency. What Chaturbate shows really cost has the package prices.

Tip goals

A goal is a shared target with a progress count, and it's the oldest tool on the platform. The original Tip Goal app, listed under the site's own admin account, still heads the directory's list of top earning apps, and its description sums the idea up in a line: set a goal, say what you'll do, and watch the tips come in.

There are a few variations worth knowing about:

  • Auto-reset goals go back to zero every time they're hit, which suits anything you're happy to repeat. The Auto-Reset Tip Goal app also shows how many times the goal has been reached and how long ago.
  • Multi-goal apps let you line up several goals in a row. Tip Multi-Goal takes up to 8 and loads the next one as soon as the current one is met, so you never have to stop and retype anything mid-show.
  • Countdown goals count down towards zero instead of showing a running total.

The author of Tip Multi-Goal makes a point worth thinking about even if you never use his app: smaller goals make viewers more likely to tip. A goal the room could hit in a few minutes feels like something everyone can do together. One that's hours away feels like someone else's job. His app also lets you drop a goal that isn't working with /skip, tease the next one with /upnext and put a time limit on the current one with /timer.

The same app has commands that add tokens to the counter which nobody actually tipped. Use that sparingly, if at all. Regulars notice when a counter jumps by itself, and a room that feels rigged loses the people who were happily tipping into it.

Ticket shows and interactive toys

Menus and goals belong to your public show. Apps can also run hidden shows, usually called ticket shows, where only viewers who've bought a ticket by tipping a set amount can see the stream. Ticket apps let you set the price, and some let you hand free tickets to your fan club members or your moderators. The academy describes ticket shows as a very popular strategy among its creators. Running a ticket show compares the main ticket apps, and ticket, group and spy shows explains how they look from the viewer's seat.

Interactive toys are the other big group. Several of the directory's top earning apps connect tips to a Lovense toy, so a tip gets an instant reaction. If that's the show you want to run, setting up Lovense on Chaturbate covers the software and the levels, and interactive shows explained sets out what viewers expect from it.

Choosing apps you can trust

Because anyone can write and publish an app, a little care goes a long way:

  1. Start with apps lots of rooms use The Current Users count is a rough guide. An app that many rooms run has had plenty of real-world testing.
  2. Read the full description It lists the commands and settings, and often mentions known problems and recent fixes.
  3. Glance at the source Every listing has a Source Code tab. Even if you don't read JavaScript, a long, unexplained app with no description is a good reason to choose a different one.
  4. Practise on a quiet night Learn the commands before you need them in a busy show.

The academy also suggests apps for moderation, such as ones that block words you don't want in your chat. And it warns about two things to watch for while the tips are flowing: fake tips, and anyone in chat claiming to represent Chaturbate.

Questions performers ask

Can I run a tip menu and a goal at the same time?

Yes. The Tip Menu app has its own goal settings, from no goal at all to an auto-reset goal, so a single app can handle both.

What do I do about requests that aren't on the menu?

Whatever you like. The menu is your list of what's on offer, and anything else is yours to accept, price or turn down. A friendly "that's not on my menu" is a complete answer.

How often should I change my menu?

When something stops working, or when you're bored of it. Make changes at the start of a show rather than halfway through, so nobody tips for an item that has just vanished.

Where this fits

A clear menu and a goal within reach make the biggest difference once people are coming in. If they aren't yet, how to get viewers on Chaturbate comes first. Once you have regulars, a fan club gives them a monthly way to support you, and how Chaturbate pays models explains what happens to the tokens afterwards.
